Any good sales person knows that we don't sell products. We sell benefits. Sadly, not many sales people do this. In grammar, it's the verb that calls us to action; not the noun. That's why great sales people sell verbs; not nouns.
Whether we realize it or not, nearly everything we do is an act of selling... especially when we do our jobs. It doesn't matter what our job is. If we do it well, it helps our company sell. That even extends to life. We can hate selling all we want; but, the truth is that, no matter what we do in life, selling will always be our business.
"If you really want to succeed in sales, forget the quota and chase your dreams." - Boom San Agustin
More often than not, it is the company's quota that becomes a hindrance for sales people to reach their full potential. Once they've hit it, most sales people stop working. They're only motivated as far as the quota is hit. A better motivation for sales people are their own dreams, simply because they're limitless. So, if you really want to succeed in sales, forget the quota and chase your dreams.
"True Sales Professionals Stop Telling & Start Asking; Stop Pushing & Start Pulling; Stop Selling & Start Serving." - Boom San Agustin
As sales people, a lot of the things we've done to make a sale no longer work in today's market. It's time we think things through. Instead of being product-centric, we should now try to be customer-centric. We should stop telling them about the product and start asking them what they want. We should stop pushing our product on them and start pulling them towards our personal brand. Most importantly, we should stop selling and start serving.
"I only compete against myself. When I do, I always lose. That’s called excellence." - Boom San Agustin
I guess it's okay competing against others. But competing against others won't bring us to our full potential. That's why I only compete against myself. When I do, I always lose. So, I try even harder. And, I get better and better. That's called excellence. Isn't that what we were born to do?
"Imagine how much better life would be if we simply substitute the word ‘failure’ with ‘learning event’." - Boom San Agustin
Way too often do we use the word 'failure' in our everyday conversations. When we do, it is always to describe something negative in our lives. However, failure isn't negative; even though we see it that way. Now, imagine how much better life would be if we simply substitute the word 'failure' with 'learning event'.
"If logical solutions don't seem to work, then it's time to consider the illogical." - Boom San Agustin
Sometimes our own logic and practical experience become a prison for our ideas and solutions. When that happens, it's time to think outside the box. Sometimes, the illogical is actually the best solution.
Often, it is trough our own imperfections that our inner strength and beauty start shining through. When we manage to accomplish great deeds despite our weaknesses, we show all the world out true spirit. Indeed, our inner light often shines through the rifts in our humanity.
"An umbrella can't stop the rain; but, it can help us walk through the rain. Conviction can't stop life's challenges; but, it can help us face those challenges." - Boom San Agustin
An umbrella can't stop the rain; but, it can help us walk through the rain. Conviction can't stop life's challenges; but, it can help us face those challenges.
When implementing discipline (especially to a team, organization or country), it should always be about the issue or action rather than the personality or personalities. Discipline should be equal and consistent to the action or it will lose its effectiveness.
